[The evening finds Ryoji yawning, moreso than usual; he's been forcing himself to stay up all night to travel, while his Absol skirts the road ahead and fights, and sleep through the day - which is harder to break in than he realized. His new Murkrow - courtesy of an egg hatched a little over a week ago - is perched on his shoulder, although his Absol's nowhere to be seen.

Does anyone else's Pokémon train themselves? [He pauses for a moment to rub the eye with a mole beneath it. Dang, it'd been a lot easier back home not to sleep. He hadn't even really been tired then.] I don't think it's a bad thing, especially since I'd prefer not to fight, but I was just wondering if Mina-kun was the only one who did it... He's even taken to training Takara-chan.

[The Murkrow squawks happily, rubbing her beak against Ryoji's hand when he goes to give her a rub with the hand not holding the Gear steady.]

I bet when my eggs hatch he'll be after those, too... Ah, anyway, Violet City isn't so bad! I think we'll be here a little longer, since both Mina-kun and Takara-chan want to check out the tower here. If anyone doesn't mind travelling at night and doesn't have anyone to travel with yet, we'd be happy for your company. Or, well, I would be.

Ah! [He grins, loosening his scarf a little. Why is it so hot he never even felt chilly really at home why now.] Especially if you're a girl. I'd be honored to have your company then.

I don't know if someone else training your Pokémon is a good idea. Isn't that how you're supposed to bond with them?

Also the Bellsprout Tower is really cool. I was just there.

Well, Mina-kun's my Absol, and I'm mostly trying to win him over with food [that worked for Minato, after all --] since he doesn't really like me starting off... Takara-chan, my Murkrow here, hatched a while ago and she's pretty friendly with me, so I don't think I really have to worry about that.

And I'm glad to hear that! I was warned by someone else earlier not to go, but I think that even if I didn't, my two would end up going by themselves and I'd feel bad if they got hurt...

I haven't been here that long, but Pokémon going off on their own to fight ... isn't something I've heard of before. You should definitely go with them to make sure they don't get hurt.

It's mostly normal-types and some ghosts in there. The monks also have Bellsprouts, so if you do go in there be careful of that. It's not really that dangerous if you're careful. Oh, and it kind of shakes a lot, so I got a little nauseous, there's that too.

I'll be careful. [To both things. Although the shaking does sound kind of risky...] I think I'll be fine in the tower, too. I don't get sick easily.

You're lucky then. Maybe you'll get to see the top of the tower! I couldn't go that high without really feeling sick.

I bet the view's really beautiful from up there! It's the tallest building I've seen so far.

There's apparently an even taller one in Goldenrod, but it's a department store.

It's an item that, when held by a Dusclops and traded with that Dusclops, makes the Dusclops evolve into a Pokémon called a Dusknoir. They look really fearsome, but they seem pretty sweet!

I'm... okay with some. I'm raising a ghost-type right now, but I've heard other kinds are a lot less friendly.

Well, I'm sure they're all friendly in their own way. What have you heard?

Things like... ghosts putting curses on trainers, or eating their souls when they sleep...

I guess those are all wild Pokémon, huh... If you befriend them I bet you won't have either of those things happen to you.

I'd rather not even get close enough to find out.
