[The evening finds Ryoji yawning, moreso than usual; he's been forcing himself to stay up all night to travel, while his Absol skirts the road ahead and fights, and sleep through the day - which is harder to break in than he realized. His new Murkrow - courtesy of an egg hatched a little over a week ago - is perched on his shoulder, although his Absol's nowhere to be seen.

Most likely because of the question Ryoji asks, after he's through with his second yawn.]

Does anyone else's Pokémon train themselves? [He pauses for a moment to rub the eye with a mole beneath it. Dang, it'd been a lot easier back home not to sleep. He hadn't even really been tired then.] I don't think it's a bad thing, especially since I'd prefer not to fight, but I was just wondering if Mina-kun was the only one who did it... He's even taken to training Takara-chan.

[The Murkrow squawks happily, rubbing her beak against Ryoji's hand when he goes to give her a rub with the hand not holding the Gear steady.]

I bet when my eggs hatch he'll be after those, too... Ah, anyway, Violet City isn't so bad! I think we'll be here a little longer, since both Mina-kun and Takara-chan want to check out the tower here. If anyone doesn't mind travelling at night and doesn't have anyone to travel with yet, we'd be happy for your company. Or, well, I would be.

Ah! [He grins, loosening his scarf a little. Why is it so hot he never even felt chilly really at home why now.] Especially if you're a girl. I'd be honored to have your company then.

All of the Pokémon who travel with me train themselves. Spearow's always flying off after whatever other Pokémon he sees and fighting them, Deerling fights other Pokémon if he sees them, but he doesn't usually go looking for fights, and Sentret only fights if she knows she can win. I try to avoid Pokémon when I'm traveling, though. I don't like them fighting if they don't have to.

[His team is so under-leveled. He's been here almost two months and his starter is only level 17.]

Ah, Mina-kun's just like your Spearow then. He pushes everyone extra hard so they all get as strong as they can each week. I'd really not rather fight, but Mina-kun's pretty unstoppable... He's really serious about training too. I wonder why.

[His Pokémon are going to end up over-leveled...]

Spearow doesn't help the others fight, he just takes on other Pokémon by himself unless Sentret or Deerling are close by. He fights because he wants to get stronger. I think he must be a kind of Pokémon that evolves, since he's shown me a bigger bird that he wants to be like.

Mina-kun can't evolve, and Takara-chan here only evolves by stone. [He pets the bird fondly before continuing.] He just must like battling, I guess.
