[Today's video opens up on -- a batch of eggs! Yes, excitement. Ryoji's breeding has finally begun.

...Not on the pair he thought it would, but hey! How a ghost and a knight get it on is of no concern to him. He's just happy to have eggs around to cuddle.

On the other hand -- there are quite a few eggs. Since he's seen other people do it, he figure it must be a fine idea.]

Good morning! [And there's Ryoji, at last, scoping into view. Just to pick up one of the eggs.] Reaper-san and Helmet-kun had eggs, and I don't think I can really keep all of them and give them the proper attention they need... So! I'm giving these ones away. Reaper-san doesn't mind.

[...No, the Dusclops does not. The Gallade, on the other hand, is sulking out of view, and Ryoji glances at him before he continues.]

I have two Duskull eggs and three Ralts eggs... I know it's not much, but they're all in perfectly good health!

[Ryoji will be taking your orders pls and thanks --]

I was pretty surprised at first too, but they're definitely from those two. I hatched and raised them both from eggs myself, so I know what they look like.

Yes. Everyone aside from my Absol and my Butterfree were hatched from eggs I received from people. [For free, generally! He's good at that.] I caught my Butterfree and my Absol started with me.

Hmm... Well, I like knowing my Pokémon are going to be taken care of. I have a full team already, and I don't think I could handle five new ones to take care of... especially if any of them took after their father. Helmet-kun's on bad terms with Mina-kun since they're polar opposites, and I'd hate for his kids to do the same. [Hmmmm.] We're all here together, too, so it's good to form new friendships instead of making enemies.

That's not the first time I've heard someone around here say something like that. But, you're right - if we're all going to be stuck here, the least we can do is help each other out. I just wish I had something to offer like this.

Well, right now I'm still in Violet City - I've been slacking off a bit, so I'll be here for a while. Or at least, I will be til I get my badge. But, what about you? Do you raise your pokemon around here, or are you somewhere else in Johto?

I'm in Violet City too, actually! Mina-kun wanted to challenge the gym here, even though he's kind of overpowered... And then the eggs came, so I couldn't really leave. [He's also totally meeting up with a hot chick who knows him but shh] Let's meet up. I'm at the PokéCenter.

Really? Wow, talk about a small world. Just let me finish up a couple things around here and I'll be right over, okay?

[Just checking up on her current pokemon, mostly! And, if Ryoji has nothing else to say, she'll head straight to the pokecenter once she's done. She'll be drifting around the lobby, looking for where the breeders would be]

[He's just in the lobby, counting his eggs to make sure none of them have rolled off. A few are already gone - he sent them off while she was finishing up! - but there's still a Ralts or two left.

He looks up and grins when his Dusclops nudges him.]

Utena-chan!

[Looks up when she hears her name, and-sheesh, again with the cute nicknames? It's not as bad as with Yui, but... whatever, it's not a big deal. It's just, well, surprising. She straightens up and waves, before she walks over with a friendly smile on her face]

Hey there - I didn't keep you and your friend waiting too long, did I?

[And at that, she looks down at the Dusclops. Nobody likes to be ignored in a conversation, right? Not even pokemon]

[Get used to it; he gives everyone a fitting honorific!]

No, not at all. Reaper-san and I were just talking about you. Helmet-kun's still sulking in the back, though... It's nice to meet you in person. You're even lovelier now.

Whoa, hold on there - you seem like a nice guy and all, but let's not get too friendly, all right? I mean, we just met... and, no offense, but I'm just not into that sort of thing.

I'm sorry. I hadn't meant to make you uncomfortable. [honest! it's just how he treats every girl - with sincere compliments and, if they're close enough to him, subtle arm touches. he's a feely, flirty guy -- but he knows when he should back off, truthfully.]

[okay, this is awkward. Takes a deep breath]

How about we start over? [smiles] I'm Utena Tenjou, and it's nice to meet you, Ryoji-kun... and you too, Reaper-san.

[The Dusclops waves a little; she'd bow if she could! Ryoji smiles back and nods, resisting the urge to offer his hand so he could delicately take hers. Wait, they could still shake hands, right?

...So there's that. That kind of hand offering.]

It's an honor to meet you, Utena-cha... um, san? Utena-san. Reaper-san's also honored to meet you.

[Well, Utena has no problem with it, even if it's a bit formal. She takes his hand and shakes it, her grip firm but not too tight, and lets go before it lingers for too long]

The honor's mind. Besides, it's kind of cool, meeting an actual pokemon breeder. I mean, I've seen a few over the Gears, but it's not like I ever got to know them - and I never really got to see what they did, either.

Well, we mostly just try not to pay our Pokémon a lot of attention and hope they breed. At least, that's how it is for me... It's really weird.

[He hasn't met a lot of breeders either though. Maybe like, one or two? One definitely.]

So, you just let nature take its course, huh? Well, that makes sense... but what about the eggs? Do you take care of those, or do their parents handle that?

A little of both. Reaper-san let me know after she had them, and Helmet-kun's been sulking over there since I said I'd be giving them away... We take turns on keeping the eggs warm though.

I guess it must be rough, though, not being able to see your kids grow up. Maybe if you could find a way to keep in touch with the new owners, he'd feel a bit better about it. It wouldn't be the same, but... well, it would be better than nothing. And he could still see them over the Gears, right?
