IV. the emperor's fifth robe | video | ecruteak city
[Ryoji's been between Goldenrod and Ecruteak for a while now - he would've gone on to Olivine, had things gone down there that he really wasn't sure what to make of... hadn't gone done there - but today, he resides outside of the theater in Ecruteak.
Oh, he's looking happy. He's still pretty shimmery though.]
No matter how many times I see it, the dance never gets old. It reminds me a lot of the geishas in Kyoto -- ah, but Junpei-kun and I never got to see them. What a shame... [...They would've been lovely.] I wonder if I could get my Pokémon to dance like that?
[There is an unbelieving snort behind him, and Ryoji turns his smile and charm on his grumpy Absol.]
I think Orihime-chan would look really nice, don't you? I mean, there's even already an Umbreon with the girls. She would really be perfect for it.
[OH YES--]
Orihime-chan recently evolved into an Umbreon, and Helmet-chan-- ah, Helmet-kun evolved into a Gallade the last time I was in Goldenrod... I had to pay for the Dawn Stone though. I caught my first Pokémon at the Bug Catching Contest, too - his name is Fuu-kun, and he's a Butterfree. He's as strong as Mina-kun is! It's really exciting. Fuu-kun's really shy though, so I don't think I could show him to you guys like I usually do... Mina-kun'll have to do.
[He leaans back and pulls the Absol over. What? No, the Absol was totally struggling. He didn't get pulled over willingly. He hasn't, like, gotten used to people or something.Bakas.]
He and Orihime-chan have gotten really friendly all of a sudden, and I wonder if that means they're going to hav--
[The feed ends there, because a certain Absol doesn't want that kind of thing aired out about him.]

Oh, Ryoji. [ a pause. ] Where are you right now? Is that a theater?
[ possible... venue...? ]
video;
Ah, Makoto-chan. [Man he misses his idol girls, actually.] Yes. It's the dance theater in Ecruteak.
[-- oh, idols] If you're thinking of doing a show here, you'd probably have to ask the girls if it'd be all right.
video;
Eheh... was it that obvious? [ it probably was... ] I dunno, I wouldn't want to take someone else's stage. But maybe if they're okay with it...

Geishas?
video.
[He knows as much about them as any tourist, really.]
video.
If they're as graceful as the dancers here, they must be a treat to see. [ oh, and hot springs. those sound nice… ]
video.
I'm sure they were. We never saw any while we were there, so I can't say for sure, but they definitely seem to be popular from what I remember... [Ahh, he's wistful. He wishes they could've seen some...]

[ She giggles. ] Ah~! You know, I have an interest in Japanese dancing! I might be able to teach pokemon willing to learn~!
video
but he's got his eyes on you now
he's watching you]
I'll see if -- [-- yes okay Mina-kun he'll not say anything. But dancing!] Do you really, Rangiku-san? I'll see if any of my team wouldn't mind learning.
video
SHE'S FINE. SHE ALREADY HAS HER OWN POKEMON WHO HATE HER AND LOVE HER AT THE SAME TIME!!! FIGHT THE POWAAAAAA.... ]
Yes! I've been learning the art of traditional dancing for about two-hundred years~! I'm sure I'm just as skilled as the Kimono girls, even if I've only seen one performance of theirs! [ Horray for databook information coming in handy for threads~! ] I'd be delighted to teach your pokemon some moves~! I already teach my Jynx some moves since she's a major dancing enthusiast! We bond by learning each other's moves, even though hers are a bit complex. [ Read: nonsensical. ]
video
Wow... You get more amazing every time I talk to you, Rangiku-san. [Too bad he's not Kenji, he'd be romantically interested in you then --]

[And from the sound of it, he's pleased for you! He likes hearing that others he knows are doing well, really.]

I am, and I hope you've been doing well too. [He hasn't talked to Zulf since... Let's see, since Zia left, right?
(He misses her. She was cute.)]
video
Zulf, honey, I don't think you guys are on the same wavelength here...]I can't complain, actually. Things have been looking up lately.
[Most things. The Team Rocket things he could do without, but there's no need to bring that up now.]
Though if you don't mind my asking - who is this "Junpei-kun" that you mentioned? A friend of yours?
video
This is the right wavelength right??]I'm glad to hear that.
[...Hmmm. Ryoji's smile falls a little; he's a guy who can't hide his emotions, unfortunately. He seems a little sad.] He was. I'm not sure if we still are, but we were very good friends. He was one of my best friends, actually, along with Minato-kun.
video;
w/e i do what i wantwe can always claim time shenanigans happened]What's a 'geisha'?
video;
A woman that dances. They're usually really pretty, too. [THEIR MAIN DRAW, LUKE-KUN.] If I remember right, they sing too... but I never met one while I was in Kyoto, so I can't say for sure.
video;
[You are such a good influence, Ryoji.]
video;
Kyoto also has hot springs, and a lot of historical landmarks. The hot springs really are the high point, or at least they were when my class and I went.
[...and by hot springs being the high point of his class trip he means 'accidentally' staying past the guys' time is the best -- girls, ah~]
