[He had been here three days already - he had even talked to someone in New Bark Town, although he had to refuse her offer of riding her Onix to the next town - and Nyx hadn't come around. He didn't even feel her pull - feel the end of the world close by, despite it - and he wonders what Minato's answer would be. He should kill him, but --

He tucks his chin into his scarf and sighs, staring at his hands. If she was truly around, he would've changed by now. He would've become completely unrecognizable. In the water's reflection, however, he sees only himself, eyebrows knitted together in confusion and worry. But -- he hadn't. He was still the same.

Maybe there was another chance.]

[Not much later, Ryoji's peering into the Gear and grinning at the camera; his hair's plastered to his face and he's soaking yet. Someone ~~was shoved by their starter~~ slipped into the ocean while they were thinking -- but for now, he's sitting by the edge and letting his feet stay in the water, not that the camera can catch that. It can, however, catch the top of an egg (Eevee, for those familiar with them).]

This world's really beautiful, isn't it? I'm glad to have the chance to explore it. I've heard there are busier towns further along, and while the scenery here is wonderful, I'm a little homesick for the city... I don't think Mina-kun's going to like the busier towns too much though.

[But oh! Introductions! He waves over an Absol - who leans juuust into camera view, a small frown perched on its face - and flashes the camera a charming smile.]

I'm Ryoji Mochizuki, and this is my Absol, Mina-kun. [The Absol gives Ryoji a hard look, then saunters off camera. Ryoji's smile falters for only a second before it's back up, brighter than before.] He's a little tough, but hopefully he'll warm up to me soon. I named him after a friend from home, since their hair's kind of the same.

[Heheh. Not to mention their personalities --]

I hope we'll all get along well.

Cute...? [Who wants cute stuff, Luke likes MANLY and COOL things!! ~~By which I mean, Ryoji should totally convince him to get an Eevee for Reasons~~] Is it good in a fight?

Well, I've read that they're very loyal and energetic. I'm sure they could be excellent battlers, but... I'm not really out to battle with these guys. Mina-kun hates that. [He chuckles, although it's less amused than it should be. More forced. He really doesn't like conflict.] You could get an egg from the Center if you really wanted to see for yourself. We'd be Eevee buddies!

You don't battle them? But that's what they're there for! [A bit of a simplistic view, but there you have it.] Where is this breeding place, anyway?

[HE DOESN'T HAVE TO EXPLAIN HIMSELF TO YOU!!!] I don't know, but it'd make sense for it to be one of the bigger cities, right?

[WHAT NO HDU!!! >:U] ...how'd you get an egg from a place when you don't even know where it is?!

[): HIS REASONS ARE HIS OWN!!!] I just called and they sent it! Ah, but it didn't take too long to arrive, so I guess it isn't really far, right?

You...called them? [TECHNOLOGY. HOW DO???] Over the bo--the gear? [He keeps calling it 'the box', even after he's been told what it is. Sob.]

[WOW HE'S SUDDENLY THANKFUL HE COMES FROM A TIME OF CELLPHONES...........] Uh huh. It isn't too hard, I promise. You'll probably be able to figure it out -- I'd help you if I thought I'd be able to show you, but I really don't think I could.

[BE VERY GRATEFUL RYOJI, CELLPHONES IS AN IMPORTANT LIFE SKILL]

So what, do I just call them, like 'hey, I want to talk to the Breeding Center!' Like that?

[That isn't what 'call' means, Luke.............sobbing]

Ah... Not to be rude, but you don't have cellphone where you're from, do you?

...we have fonons; why do people keep mentioning fon- without fonons?

[His 'impending mocking' senses are tingling.]

Phone-ons...? I've never heard of that. [Like is it where you leave your... phone... on...???]

Why do people keep saying it that way-- They're a kind of...energy. You use them to power machines and Artes and things, and there are six kinds. You probably just don't have them where you're from.

Oh, that sounds cool! Where I'm from, we have electricity for energy, even for the arts and crafts room. [THAT'S THE KIND OF ARTS YOU MEANT RIGHT--] We also have cellphones, which run on battery power. That's another kind of energy! They're a lot like the PokéGears, although I really just use it for calling people instead of all those fancy things.

[O LAWD if he were--I liked Master Van before he was a badass villain!!! Oh and he nocurr about your eel-eck-tri-city, Ryoji.]

You just use it for calling...? But it doesn't amplify my voice...how do I get it to work?

[He couldn't be a hispter about being the original Luke-- /brick'd. Also electricity is like, the best thing! It lets you go out with pretty girls after-hours!]

There should be a list of numbers or something in it-- I can't remember if the Breeding Center's already there, but once you get out of the network you should just be able to select one and ring them up.

[Let's use new words to confuse everyone--]

['Hey, I was cloned before we even had the telephone!!' And man, Luke is so down with pretty ladies after-hours. ~~In a hypothetical kind of way, because lol Luke and girls~~]

--numbers? Or, so that's what those are for. So you ring them? There's a bell on this thing, too?

Not exactly. It's more like the electricity in the phone makes sounds come out of it! The numbers make sounds too. So you call the numbers, and when the person on the other end picks up, you can talk to them.

Oh. Oh! Okay.

[And then the BC got the whiniest, most entitled phone call ever and it was all Ryoji's fault.]

I guess I could get one of those Eevees. What other ones did you get? I have a cool fox thing and this dumb fish.

[He will happily take the blame!]

Well, I started out with Mina-kun here, and it's just been him and I and now this egg. I haven't caught anything, since they all just want to fight, and Mina-kun's really more than up for giving them one...

[He really doesn't like fighting, even for catching!]

Can I see yours?

Huh? Oh, sure. Hey, c'mere.

[From behind Luke there's a slight puff of smoke, and then...Ryoji appears, or at least what looks like an exact copy. Ryoji might notice a few telltale signs of Zorua: the eyes have a tint of red so as to seem purple, and the beauty mark is missing. Other than that, the resemblance is eerie. Luke grins.]

Not bad, huh?

[Woaaaaah! Color him surprised. And gaping a little. It's rude to, but-- woah.]

That's so cool! I didn't know they could do that... I'm a little jealous.

[As if Luke would know 'rude' if it punched him repeatedly in the face...he grins.]

Yeah, he can turn into anybody.

[Zorua-Ryoji blurs a bit at the egdes, before his form starts to subtly bleed out and shift and there's Luke, another Luke at least, with a smile to match the original's.]

Can't talk, though.

[He'll know it one day, maybe, ~~after leveling Goldenrod City or something~~.]

I'd be surprised if he could... I wonder if Pokémon can learn how to talk? I think that'd be really cool.

Huh. [Luke looks at Zorua, considering, then:] Nah, he's probably too dumb.

[Cue Zorua-Luke whacking him upside the head--and the impact is enough to make him revert to a chittering, angry Zorua.]
